SEGA Saturn Model/Version Identifier
(Serial Number Checker)
Below is a little script that can help you to identify the model number of your Saturn by just using it's unique serial number.
It's probably a good idea to also check the mother board for the revision, but this should also be pretty accurate.

This script originally appeared on the Ced's "Fenrir" store page, and was used to identify what model Saturn you owned.
This was because originally, the Fenrir came in two different variants: 20-Pin and 21-Pin.
Which variant you bought completely depended on the model of your Saturn, and the number of pins your ribbon calbe used.

Of course, now that the Fenrir Duo exists, it was no longer needed and Ced seemingly removed it from his site.
I managed to find a working archive of the serial checker, and even the code behind it.
I thought it was still a useful thing to have, and made a few little tweaks to it now that it is no longer of use to Fenrir.
So yeah, full credit to Ced for the code, and hopefully they don't mind me rehosting it. I also hope you find this script useful!

Serial Checker

Check the back of your SEGA Saturn, then enter your serial number in the box below.

Your serial sticker should look something like the image below... The part I've highlighted in red is the one you're looking for.
